what I do when I want to avoid the white background is drag the bottom right corner of the white box until it's smaller than the picture you want to paste on top
it will stretch to the exact size of the picture without any extra white space

switching targets in RA is ok if your up against a poorly gathered team. you want PRESSURE on the cute little healers though. make their job a living hell.

I guess I do have the GvG mentality in mind, but you can pressure the monk pretty easily in RA when multiple sources of damage is hitting the team. Without a p&h monk, it's hard for monk for deal with a hex heavy necro or mesmer... especially if the teammates don't ping their hex'es.
My only point is that most monks I've encountered are usually dual stance or puts up guardian on him/herself at the first sight of me approaching them. That's of course because I play a warrior (hammer). If I was another character that bypasses all of these blocks, I totally agree pressuring the monk is key. That's what I rely on my teammates to do. Either a nec or mes hex'ing the team, mes/ranger sitting on the monk, etc. It's also ok if another war teammate is training the monk too, it means I can sit on another character.
But back to the original point, I consider it still a certain level of pressure if I simply walk up to a monk to either build up adrenaline or whatever, and have them put up a guardian or a stance for safety. It means I can hit someone else freely for a few seconds, and mitigate whatever damage the character was doing (assuming the character didnt have some way to prevent it).
Again, I agree with pressing monks. I see pressuring monks in the way of dealing damage to the teammates or having the monk pressured to unload all the heals on a character or try to control the hex being spread around. As a warrior, if the healer can mitigate most of the damage, it's no pressure at all. And keep in mind, I am speaking on a hammer warrior point of view. Different character definitely means a different strategy, but overall, it does come down to pressure and damage mitigation.
edit: majestikk: that's awesome. :O Did you start off in an American district?

Best one happened to me today. R drops [Frozen Soil] at the beginning of the match w/o telling anyone. We lose one early and no one can res so = epic fail. I haven't seen one so utterly lame in a long time.

American districts. In general. Every other team asks what my ranger build is because I have a spear / shield.

Mesmer spamming Wastrel on the same person before 3 sec recharge is up is pretty sad.

Hate to break it to ya, man... Healing Signet doesn't cause any damage... except to yourself of course, and CERTAINLY not while you're in Frenzy.
Change Frenzy to: For 8 Seconds, you attack 33% faster, take double damage, and whenever you use Healing Signet, you become invincible forever, as long as your GW account exists.

A new one, from another friendly monk (Divina). I was playing a cookie cutter Weaken Knees necro (Kaz). I don't know why I always end up sinking into their level, I tend to turn off team chat these days but I turn it back on when I have FF on my bar so I can FF something useful. There was this ranger on the team who was on Divina's side too but after the match, we were talking about it on local and others chimed in. FF is for party support (daze, deep wound, blind, cripple), not for spammed conditions (ranger with applied poison). The ranger realized he misunderstood, it felt nice that there are still people out there who can admit fault. I respect that.
Well this monk thinks I should be FF'ing all the time, especially spammed conditions like poison. Now if the monk had more than one condition, I may consider doing it, but everytime he asked for FF, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and FF'ed, and it was just poison. From the chat, you can also see that he wanted me to FF poison every time to plague send it as well.
Of course when these conversations start, the other will bring up the 'rank' card assuming the other is lower ranked. Whether he/she is, it's irrelevant, whatever smart players there is remaining in this game, I hope you realize that rank means almost nothing, especially in RA. I was laughing on my chair by the end at the irony he was teaching me something because he automatically assumed he was better than me (so I guess means higher ranked?).
Divina, if you're reading this, wrong on both counts, friend. Oh and I saw your rank before you quickly realized I was there. Lying about rank makes it even funnier.

OK, I laughed so hard I nearly fell out of my chair.
Anyway, dumbest thing I ever saw was some guy taunting me during the match because I was on my PvE character. (He knew because I was bunny-thumping, and I had my phoenix.) He then proceeded to show off the absolute dumbest build I've ever seen, (Warrior/Rit) summoning Pain spirits and using Draw Spirit to put them right in my face. He then used a fairly poor shock warrior. Needless to say, he was dead a lot.
I ended up putting him on my ignore list afterward, because he kept calling me a PvE scrub.
